People. Customer Focus. Financial Strength. Innovation. These are all values that help define Pacific Life. Nowhere are these commitments more on display than with the Planned Performance Tracking system, a web-based tool for producers that automates projections for in-force policies.

This system, the brainchild of Ivan Bishop, was built and implemented by Pacific Life employees. “Their deep understanding of our products and their strong commitment to service … is what really brought that system about,” said Dawn Trautman, EVP of the Life Insurance Division.

The Planned Performance Tracking system set Pacific Mutual apart from its competitors, with the ability to schedule automated in-force illustrations and coverage history summaries as well as reminders for illustrated policy changes.

All of this automation streamlined the sales process and put the focus on in-force clients whose life insurance needed to be actively managed after the initial sale. The hope was that Planned Performance Tracking would eliminate the time—up to 20 percent of the work week for some producers—spent doing paperwork.

The PPT is still in use today, and is still just as valuable to producers as it was when it was first introduced. It’s one of the reasons people say, “This is why we do business with you.”
